Introduction To Accounting (Reflective Journal 3)

" With the Final Exam fast approaching, how are you prepared to cope with it? Do you think this module needs improvement? If so, suggest areas which you think can be improved."

Introduction to Accounting has been my favorite module as it has always been since I my high school days. As I have previously learned Accounting in high school and again during my foundation year at Sunway College, the accounting concepts that are being taught now have been similar. This helped me to keep a good grasp on this subject. However, the only problem that I had was with the topic on depreciation of fixed assets. It was significantly different to the way I originally learned it in high school and during my foundation. Hence, I have to practice a little extra on depreciation questions in order to be prepared for the final examination. Besides that, the entire semester I enjoyed doing my weekly tutorials on MyAccountingLab because all this while I have been doing my Accounting homework with regular paper and pencil and this seems to be interesting. In a nutshell, this module is pretty easy to cope with hard work, determination and effort.

Introduction to Accounting (Reflective Journal 2)

"Reflecting on the results you obtained in the mid-semester test, are you satisfied with your result? Do you think the weekly tutorial questions given to you has helped you in your revision and preparation for the mid-semester test?"

On week 9, I did my online mid-semester test on the MyAccountingLab. The mid-semester test covered topics 1 to 8. There were 10 multiple choice questions and 2 structural questions. All questions have to be answered in a time duration of 75 minutes and everyone was given 2 attempts for this test. The questions was relatively easy because most of the questions was similar to the tutorial questions given by my tutor. On the first attempt, I obtain a 80% mark however on my second attempt I manage to obtain a 99.83%. I am satisfied with results because my hard work of completing my weekly tutorial has reflected on my results.

Introduction to Accounting ( Reflective Journal 1)

 Question:
"How does the accounting knowledge gained in your study of 'Introduction to Accounting' benefit you in your future career? Do you think this module is relevant or not relevant to you, especially if you are not going to major in Accounting and Finance ?"

The accounting knowledge gained in my study of “Introduction to Accounting” has a definite benefit in my future career as the pathway I have currently chosen is majoring in Accounting and Finance. I would also like to obtain my ACCA certification after the completion of my degree in order to be a certified accountant.  Hence, this module is relevant to me and in fact it is one of my favorite modules in this semester. I personally think Accounting is a very important knowledge to be gained because Accounting determines how a business is doing and what the bottom line is.
